Isthmus Block Party

On August 29th, 2006 Isthmus Court, the most notorious party court in Mission Beach, filled with drunks as the 7th annual Block Party ensued. It was a glorious day of shots, beer bonging, and keg stands led by two simple men with nothing more than a dream of a more counterproductive drunken society. BoozeSanDiego.com pulled together festivities which would go down in history as one of the best neighborhood parties known to man.

The day started off with a bang as the rhythmic clicking of the Wheel O Death called out to all of Isthmus Court to begin drinking before noon. By 2pm the court was filled with neighbors and guests shaking some ass to the sounds of DJ Filthy Sanchez, who dumped track after track of the filthiest jams you’ve ever heard. People could hear the music for blocks and were drawn to the madness while thinking, “Holy shit! Maybe I should call the cops. Or better yet, maybe I should spin the wheel and drink myself blind.”

Everything went smoothly until the Franzia was unleashed and the party went ape-shit about chugging dirty wine and slapping the bag with all their might. Ten kegs, ten handles of vodka, and two cases of Rockstar later, the Dance Commander Snowseph had lost his mind and began taking his pants off. At some point the cops may have come, but I can’t really remember and I don’t think anyone really noticed because I’m sure everyone partied all night long.

I would like to give a tremendous thanks to everyone that made it out to kill some brain cells. I’ve got a butt-load of pictures for you to paste onto your myspace to prove that you were looking damn sexy that day. I’m talking sexy enough to bone on the first night.

A Crawl through Mission Beach

Now that the website has been fully launched and forced upon all of my friends, I think it’s necessary that I throw my first party. This Saturday, July 1st, BoozeSanDiego.com presents the Mission Beach Pub Crawl. All those interested will be meeting in Mission Beach at 11am to drink free beers and eat breakfast. At 12pm the crawl begins in South Mission Beach at the Pennant. The drunken debauchery will then make its way north on 45 minute intervals through the Beachcomber, Canes, Wavehouse, Sandbar, and Coaster Saloon. Those still standing will continue north to Guava Beach and Liars Club in North Mission.

  • The Mission Beach Pub Crawl hosted by BoozeSanDiego.com was on of the most ridiculous pub crawls I’ve ever seen in all my years in Mission Beach. All of the fellow boozers met at Party Boy’s house in Mission Beach for Bloody’s, beers, and breakfast at noon on Saturday, July 1st. After a quick group photo we turned our drinks bottoms-up and were off to the Pennant, where $2 pints were waiting. Forty-five minutes and a few beers later we hit up the Beachcomber (right next door) for more $2 pints as well as $3 u-call-it cocktails. This was when most of the group switched over to booze and the energy of the pub crawl really began to escalate as slurring, stumbling, and nudity made its way into our groove.

A saucy ten minute walk down the beach (accompanied by a couple of eighteen-packs, of course) brought us to Cane’s Bar and Grill. After a few too many Jagger Bombs, we were ready to dance our asses off at the ever-popular Wavehouse. That’s when everything started to get a little fuzzy and pub crawlers began making a scene. I personally saw a battle where coasters were used as ninja stars, a dance party that went awry when the couple got a little too loose and hit the deck, as well as countless drinks spilled into the Wavehouse’s fake sand. As people were kicked out early we then enjoyed a slurred stroll to the next pub, the infamous Sandbar. Not long after everyone made it to Sandbar, anyone wearing a BoozeSanDiego.com t-shirt managed to get kicked out… they said BoozeSanDiego.com was getting too wild. Is that possible?

After Sandbar I really don’t remember a whole hell of a lot- I know I’m not the only one. Other than that I had a blast. Whether or not we made it to the final bar of the crawl, the Coaster Saloon, will surely never be known. What is known, however, is that those still standing were still able to make it back to Party Boy’s house to finish off the keg from earlier. Maybe the pictures from the Pub Crawl will be able to paint a better picture than I can. You can check ‘em out in the photos section o the site to see the kind of fun you can expect from future BoozeSanDiego.com events. Booze on!
